The Fall snacks that dogs eat are very good for dogs, according to a new study.
The study, published in the journal Animal Behaviour, looked at dogs’ eating habits and found that they were more likely to eat the food when they were in a social situation and not at home.
“Our study indicates that dogs are able to acquire fall snacks by eating on the floor and not on their own,” said study author Dr. Michael J. Trenneman.
“In addition, dogs are more likely than other breeds to eat from food that is shared with other dogs, such as a human or another dog.”
Trennemans study also found that dogs were more willing to share food with a human if they were able to get a “clean” snack for themselves.
“This means that they are less likely to be able to use food that they cannot eat,” said Trenneeman.
“The next step is to develop a range of fall snacks that will not only be safe to eat for dogs but also that can be used by other animals as well,” he added.
